THE CNY JAZZ ARTS INSTITUTES
Become a part of our Jazz Arts Institute and work with the pros while learning for a lifetime!

The CNY Jazz Arts Institute is a curriculum focused on professional training via two regional "benchmark" ensembles for students 18 and under, the JAI Big Band and 'Jam Factory' Improv Labs. Other services coordinated through the Institute include college counseling and audition CD production, career seminars, preferred slots as master class demonstration ensembles in CNYJO pre-concert clinics, guaranteed slot at Jazz in the Square Scholastic Festival, and a new "Jazz Ambassadors" group that will learn professional organizational and marketing skills necessary for survival in the performance workplace.

Students in our JAI "jazz family" will also receive special discounts and free admission to our other fine scholastic programs, such as:

• SummerJazz Workshop a one-week student improv program-in-residence at the Arts and Home Center at the NY State Fairgrounds. It features a combo-based daily curriculum of small ensemble coaching, student jams, master classes, professional performances, and a residency by a nationally known artist-educator who performs with the students in a grand finale evening performance. The students also perform a day-long youth jazz festival at the NYS Fair each August.
• Scholastic Jazz Jam Series events where local High School and College students perform in a supportive environment backed by professionals

Scholastic Member Districts
Your district can become a permanent partnership with the CNY Jazz Arts Foundation! Membership includes blocks of tickets to all CNYJO Concert Series events as well as free admission to pre-concert clinics. ARTS-IN-EDUCATION SERVICE
Our Mission: Created to serve school districts, colleges and theaters across Upstate New York, CNY Jazz Management is dedicated to the educational mission of the CNY Jazz Arts Foundation, the region's primary provider of jazz programming in concert, cabaret, scholastic and festival settings, both in schools and in public. Our goal is to develop a knowledge of jazz, America's inclusive art form, and its incredibly diverse improvisational family of styles, by developing, sustaining and offering world-class in-school performances especially designed to support all academic disciplines.
